Environmental Compliance Auditing

Course Description:

This course provides auditors with the skills required to conduct an environmental compliance audit consistent with international auditing standards and best practices. The course is recommended for beginning environmental auditors or as a refresher for experienced environmental auditors who want to improve their auditing skills.  The three-day course includes the following subjects:

1.    Environmental impacts and compliance issues, including:  

·         Typical Waste Steams and Pollutants Generated by Process Operations

·         Thresholds that Trigger Compliance Requirements

·         Typical Compliance Related Requirements

2.    Major environmental compliance requirements that are assessed typically include:

·         Air Emissions

·         Emergency Planning and Community Access to Information about Chemicals

·         Spill Control and Response

·         Control  of Toxic Substances

·         Underground Storage Tanks (UST’s)

·         Hazardous Waste

·         Solid Waste

·         Drinking Water

·         Stormwater

·         Wastewater

Note. Basic auditing skills are a prerequisite for successful participation in the Environmental Compliance Auditing course.  An Environmental, Health and Safety Auditing Skills course is offered separately by GOT Performance Solutions.  All EHS training is offered in public venues or in-house.
